Linux still has a bit of a hacker reputation, and many don't know that they have already used linux (not to mention open source software in general) without their knowledge.
Here is a list of devices and companies that use Linux. References are www.linuxdevices.com and several other news sites like the german www.heise.de.
Starting with the Motorola A760 in 2003, Motorola is constantly increasing their Linux cell phone palette. The next famous Linux Motorola phone is the Razr V8 and the Motorokr Z6. Until 2007, Motorola sold about 9 million Linux devices worldwide. There are also many Samsung Linux cell phones on the market.
A huge amount of digital satellite and DVB decoder boxes are running/can run Linux There is even a Linux based TV available, the Sharp IT-32×2 HDTV TV! The Sony Playstation 3 officially supports running a Linux operating system.
Since 2007, Dell also sells laptops with Linux (Ubuntu Linux) preinstalled instead of Windows. Currently only in the USA, but Europe will follow. Several other laptop vendors are also interested.
The most famous Linux laptop is the “one laptop per child” 100$ laptop. Many companies like AMD, eBay, Google, Nortel and Red Hat are supporting this project.
Examples for well-known Linux mobile devices are the Archos PMA400 and Archos 604 pocket multimedia player and the Nokia NSeries Devices Nokia 770 and its successors Nokia N800 and N810. Also Sony has a Linux mobile device - the Sony MYLO. Not to forget the legendary Sharp Zaurus.

The most famous Linux device for this category is propably the Linksys WRT54g. Also devices that run (or can run) Linux come from Netgear and D-Link. There is also the Fluke Networks EtherScope Network Analyzer.
There are Automatic Cow-Milking Systems with Linux - the Delaval VMS. Linux Ice Cream? - The MooBella ice cream vending machine.
Other examples are a parking lot payment terminal (Intella-Pay from Digital Pioneer) and a ship manufacturing robot from Samsung Heavy Industries.
Singapore Airlines now provides a Linux computer on every seat. With it's 40 GB HDD the passenger is able to even write office (Sun StarOffice) documents.
